Job Details | Position Description: preforming work required in connection with the maintenance, repair, testing, installation, monitoring and servicing of all types of service provisioning equipment; work includes but not limited to: technologies/protocols such as Digital and IP Central office switching, Carrier Systems, Radio Networks, SONET, Carrier Class Ethernet Switches/Routers, TCP/IP, Optical Add/Drop Terminals, CWDM/DWDM Terminals, MPLS, ATM, DSL equipment and connecting telecommunications interfaces. Functions performed in Deadhorse, AK & surrounding villages in extreme arctic conditions. Schedule is 3 on and 3 off. Principle Accountabilities: Provide Construction, operation & maintenance of voice lines, data lines and cellular wireless services; install, maintain, and repair customer premises equipment install drop wires, station protectors, network interface devices, DSL equipment and preform initial wiring or rewiring for new and existing subscribers; climb utility poles and telecommunication towers; install, maintain and troubleshoot emergency power systems to include facility level battery plants and back-up generators; install troubleshoot and maintain licensed and unlicensed IP and TDM based radio systems monitor network for equipment alarms and adverse trends to proactively prevent network outages; preform provisioning, operations and maintenance of Fiber Optic Mux. Education and Experience Required: Key/PBX System experience including Nortel, ESI and Avaya systems; Calix Multiservice access Platform experience preferred; experience using Microsoft Office application Suite; preferred certifications in copper and fiber and applicable industry hardware and software applications; Tower climbing certifications preferred.
