Job Details The Alaska Teamster-Employer Service Training Trust (ATESTT) and Center for Employment Education (CEE) are seeking an experienced leader to join our organization as Executive Director during a planned multi-year leadership transition. This unique opportunity allows the successful candidate to work directly with the Board of Trustees and the Director of Operations & Organizational Development while preparing to assume long-term leadership of one of Alaska’s most respected workforce development and training organizations.

Unlike many executive positions, this role includes a structured transition period of up to four years, allowing the successful candidate to gain a thorough understanding of the organization’s operations, partnerships, programs, culture, and strategic priorities before assuming full leadership responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight for daily organizational operations and staff.
  • Work closely with the Board of Trustees to implement strategic priorities and support long-term organizational growth.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Teamsters, labor organizations, employers, government agencies, educational institutions, and industry partners.
  • Oversee organizational budgeting, financial administration, and resource management.
  • Support workforce development, apprenticeship, safety, and training initiatives throughout Alaska.
  • Serve as a liaison to the Board of Trustees and represent the organization professionally across Alaska.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Five or more years of leadership, executive management, or comparable organizational leadership experience.
  • Experience managing personnel, budgets, operations, and strategic initiatives.
  • Experience working with Boards, Trustees, executive teams, or similar governing bodies.
  • Demonstrated ability to build partnerships and effectively engage diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to pass applicable background checks.

Highly Preferred Experience

  • Labor unions, labor-management partnerships, or training trust organizations.
  • Apprenticeship, workforce development, or adult education programs.
  • Transportation, construction, skilled trades, or related industries.
  • Nonprofit leadership or organizational management.
  • Financial oversight, budgeting, and strategic planning.
  • Experience working with Teamsters or similar labor organizations.
