Job Details | Job Summary: This position requires the individual to tend to one or more boilers to produce steam or high temperature water for use in an establishment, fires boiler, observes & interprets reading on gauges, meters & charts which register various aspects of boiler operation; adjust controls to insure safe & efficient boiler operation & meet demands for seam or high-temperature water. This position may also require one or more of the following: maintain a log in which various aspects of boiler operation are recorded; clean, oil, make minor repairs or assist in repair to boiler room equipment; and following prescribed methods, treat boiler water with chemicals & analyze boiler water for such things as acidity, causticity & alkalinity. Requirements: Current State of Alaska 2nd Class Power Boiler Operator License, high school education or GED equivalent; must have and maintain hazwoper certification IAW 29 CFR 1910.120 or complete within thirty (30) days of employment; previous experience with Supervisor Control & Data Acquisition (SCADA), RS Logix and Allen Bradley; certified in Confined Space (Entry, Attendant & Supervisor) or completed within 6 months of employment.
