responsibilities: Installing, maintaining and repairing heating, ventilation, air conditioning equipment and boilers; identifying maintenance risks with equipment; cleaning, adjusting and repairing systems. Changing belts, pump seals, bearings, motor sheaves and pulleys; diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults with HVAC systems, refrigeration systems, ice machines, walk-in coolers and freezers; air balancing and water treatment; performs emergency repairs promptly and efficiently; keeps daily logs and records of all maintenance functions. Complies with company standards, work instructions and customer requirements; effectively analyze, repair and replace malfunctioning controls, thermostats, switches, relays, fuses, and electrical wiring to repair HVAC equipment, using electrician’s hand tools and test equipment; sustain up to date knowledge of relevant technology with HVAC equipment and applications in a hospital environment; Johnson Controls Metasys or Building Automation Systems experience preferred; other duties will be assigned including periodic requests for service inside the hospital facility.

Minimum Requirements: One-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints and plans, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence; ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization; ability add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs; any and all state or federal license requirements; EPA Certification, Boiler Operators License, Star or NATE certification desirable; must be able to obtain a DOD Common Access Card (CAC).
