Job Details | Job Summary: The HVAC Technician assists Heating Ventilation and Refrigeration Journeyman in conducting inspection, installation, maintenance and repairs and alteration of commercial and residential heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems and related equipment and facilities; performs preventative maintenance and routine servicing of equipment. Primary Tasks: Tends ventilating and heating equipment, such as fans, vacuum pumps, air compressors, vents and ducts, and lubrication-oil coolers used in buildings or industrial processes; adjust valves to regulate temperature of lubrication oil and flow of water through system, moves controls to regulate speed of fans, adjust vents and ducts, records gauge readings, and repairs completed; troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, repairs, and installation of residential boilers and systems to include boiler controls, motors, valves, expansion tanks, and backflow preventers; writes repair work order tickets and out-of-order tags preparatory to equipment repair. Minimum Requirements: High school education or G.E.D equivalent; valid driver’s license; two (2) year’s relevant HVAC/plumbing/pipefitting trades work experience; must be able to communicate clearly (oral and written) in the English language; minimum one (1) year experience with small package/compact boiler systems; ability to obtain an EPA Universal refrigerant card within 90 days of hire; knowledge of ventilation system components; ability to wear a respirator as required and pass a respirator pulmonary function fit test; ability to obtain a favorable National Agency Check (T1).
