| Job Details | Building Controls Specialist is responsible for the maintenance of automated building control systems within the Anchorage School District facilities. The location of work is subject to contract language concerning shift location/bids. Essential Job Functions: Maintain working knowledge of building automation system control as it pertains to HVAC and lighting; interpret and work from plans, prints, specification, and established maintenance procedures; troubleshoot and repair heating, ventilation, and automation systems; write reports as required; perform preventive maintenance on heat control systems; make changes on the computer Building Automation System (BAS) for heating and lighting controls; replace or add new equipment for proper or improved heat controls. Job requirements: High school diploma or equivalent; minimum of 3 years experience within the past 5 years in the field of heating and ventilation controls, with emphasis in electronics; must be able to read, troubleshoot, and edit basic PPCL control language; must obtain a class B CDL with a general knowledge test endorsement within 30 days of hire. Preferred Requirements: Knowledge of pneumatic practical application; possession of an Alaska third class boiler operator’s license.
