Job DetailsJourneyman plumber is responsible for maintenance of plumbing system within Anchorage School District facilities. the location of the work station is subject to contract language concerning shift location/bids. Essential Job Functions: Install, repair or replace domestic and sanitary fixtures, grades sewer lines, and repair and replace piping and components of heating systems; use experience and knowledge to preform third class boiler license work; interpret and work from plans, prints, specifications, and established maintenance procedures; perform preventive maintenance on plumbing equipment; troubleshoot, analyze and repair plumbing systems and install new/replacement plumbing fixtures. Job Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent education; minimum 4 years of experience within the past 6 years in the field of plumbing; must obtain a class B CDL with a general knowledge test endorsement within 6 months of hire; must possess a State of Alaska Journeyman Plumber certificate. Preferred Requirements: Municipality of Anchorage Backflow Assembly Tester certificate of qualification; class A treated and untreated small water systems license. If preferred licenses are not held at the time of employment attainment needs to occur within 12 months.
