Job DetailsJob Summary: Performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge (but not proficiency) in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, floor installation, and electrical work.

Excluded are; craft workers included in a formal apprenticeship or progression program based on training and experience; skilled craft workers required to demonstrate proficiency in one or more trades; workers performing simple maintenance duties not requiring practical skill and knowledge of a trade (e.g., changing light bulbs and replacing faucet washers).

Primary Tasks: Replaces electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors; patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceiling using plaster or compounds; repairs or replaces concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks; replaces damaged paneling or floor tiles; hangs and installs doors and locks; replaces broken windowpanes; performs general maintenance on equipment and machinery; preps, masks, textures, and paints surfaces of interior and exteriors of structures and equipment; replaces and/or repairs faucets, sinks, toilets, and tub surrounds; removes door casings, floor coverings, including tack strips or adhesives; replaces floor tiles; perform all other work duties assigned.

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

MINIMUM: High school diploma or equivalent; must possess a valid Driver’s License; minimum of two (2) years’ experience working in two (2) or more Maintenance Trades; general knowledge and experience of basic hand and power tools associated with the level of work assigned. Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable National Agency Background Check (T1); knowledge of acceptable construction maintenance practices including Occupational Safety and Health regulations; knowledgeable and competent to operate hand tools and power tools; ability to work independently and as part of a team; must be able to perform simple tasks independently after being given specific instruction; ability to lift 50 lb. and team lift 51 lbs. or more; must be able to communicate clearly (oral and written) in the English language; dependent on trades department assigned to, the applicant must have the ability to complete required training for fall protection and/or confined space training and maybe qualified for respiratory wear.

PREFERRED: Previous experience of working in three (3) or more Maintenance Trades.

Other Requirements: Must be able to drive a company vehicle and be insured; must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance if necessary; must comply with all company policies.
