Essential Job Functions: Performs painting craft trade duties including tape floating, preparation work, mixing, blending, and matching paint colors; works cooperatively with others within established maintenance procedures; originates written reports as required; works within established safety procedures.

Job Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent; minimum three years of experience within the past five years as a painter, including tape floating and preparation work, required. Work experience must evidence ability to perform tasks assigned; must obtain an Alaska class B commercial driver’s license with a general knowledge test endorsement within 6 months of hire; must possess an Alaska hazardous paint certificate; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

The following are preferred Requirements: Knowledge of current methods and procedures, materials, tools, trim-out, and cut-in methods; knowledge of the safety procedures appropriate to the painting craft trade, including, but not limited to, the use and maintenance of power and hand tools, including airless sprayers; demonstrated knowledge of mixing, blending, and matching colors in a production-oriented painting unit.
